The Port Stanley Sailing Squadron's objectives are to encourage yachting; promote the science of seamanship, sailing and navigation; foster friendships; and provide good anchorage and recreational facilities for its members.
Being a small private sailing club, our members feel like part of the family. We do not currently offer sailing lessons or formal instruction; however, our members are approachable and willing to help fellow sailors. If you don't currently own a sailboat, but are interested in learning to sail, a crew membership is a great opportunity to participate in racing on a club member's boat, enabling you to learn all the finer points involved in sailing.
The club offers limited wet and dry dockage to our members on a seniority basis, but you do not have to dock your boat at PSSS to be a member of our sailing squadron. There is a one-time dock initiation fee to get on the dock seniority list, and once you are assigned a permanent dock, there is a one-time dock levy along with an annual dockage fees. Our wet dockage is currently full with a waiting list. Our dry dockage would require you to use our lift-crane each time you want to use your boat. When not in use, your boat would stay on it's trailer in our parking lot during the sailing season. Dry dock boats need to be removed from club parking lot prior to haul-out (usually beginning of October). We may have dry dockage availability, so let us know if you would like to dry dock with us. Winter storage is also available.
We also have an active racing group which welcomes Port Stanley sailors for various races and regattas with reasonable race fees. Social activities are also a significant part of our sailing culture. Sailing has so much to offer, especially if you are a member of the Port Stanley Sailing Squadron. We would like you to be part of that experience!
We offer Crew, Associate and Full Memberships, each with their own set of privileges and responsibilities. Please click here to learn about each of these memberships. In addition to the membership fees outlined below, other fees may apply depending on what services you choose to partake of. Please click here for a listing of other fees.
